Fall 2017 Cherry Blossom 5K Run, Walk & Pooch Prance for Breast Cancer
Our annual Fall Cherry Blossom 5K Run, Walk and Pooch Prance for Breast Cancer was held on Sunday, October 15, 2017 at Foxcroft School, Middleburg, VA.
Benefiting only local women, Loudoun's own Cherry Blossom Breast Cancer Foundation once again welcomed hundreds of participants from Middleburg and all the surrounding areas! Women, men, children, and their pooches, joined in to walk, run, or prance at Foxcroft School on Sunday October 15, 2017 to raise money for the local fight against breast cancer.
Our events gather together breast health supporters and cancer survivors dressed in pink - with their pooches similarly sporting pink bandannas, hats, and tutus. The events included warm up athletics and vendors, raffles, and prizes for race participants and best costumes.
Since 2007, Cherry Blossom Breast Cancer Foundation has granted almost $750,000 to local organizations to help women with breast cancer. The all-volunteer non-profit plans to grant another $100,000 this year. The foundation also annually recognizes outstanding individuals and organizations fighting breast cancer with the Cherry Blossom Champion Award.
Remember, that funds raised by Cherry Blossom Breast Cancer Foundation support only local women and are not sent to national organizations or out of the area.
